About Me
I’m a solo traveler who built my home on wheels from the ground up. Originally from Michigan, I spent years managing catering and event venues in Chicago before moving to Los Angeles. That’s where I got serious about vanlife—converting my 2007 Ford E-350 extended cargo van, Stan, with my own two hands, right in the parking lots of home improvement stores. No fancy workshops, no professional builders—just problem-solving, trial and error, and a lot of determination.
Since then, I’ve driven up and down the West Coast, camped at vanlife festivals and gatherings, and refined my setup through real-world experience. I’ve learned how to thrive on the road—balancing work, travel, and the freedom that comes with a home on wheels.
My background in event management gives me a unique perspective on vanlife. I know how to plan, adapt, and operate efficiently in any situation. Whether it’s making the most of limited space, finding the best places to camp, or making money on the road, I’ve been there, done that, and I’m here to share what I’ve learned.
Beyond travel, I have a passion for music, playing cards, bowling, radio broadcasting, and model railroads. And while vanlife is my lifestyle, my goal is to create resources that make it easier for others to get started and succeed on the road.
